Aviation had already taught him something about movement: you do not reach altitude by accident. Every heading has a purpose. Every adjustment matters. Every destination begins with a decision to leave the ground.
Sitting there, Jack began thinking about something bigger than clothing. He had become increasingly convicted about ownership. He wanted to build something of his own, wear something of his own, and create a brand that represented more than a logo across someone's chest. He wanted to create something that could inspire the people around him to move, build, take chances, and believe that where they started did not have to determine where they finished.
So he started thinking about a name.
Not simply a name for a clothing company.
A name for a movement.
He thought about aviation. Travel. Culture. Style. Winning. Ambition. The places he had been, the rooms he had entered, and the experience of moving through a world where sometimes he was the only person in the room who looked like him.
Then the pieces began to come together.
FLY. BY. NOIR.
FLY represented altitude, aviation, movement, and the refusal to remain grounded by limitations.
BY represented the journey: the countries, cultures, assignments, people, victories, setbacks, and experiences encountered along the way.
NOIR, French for black, represented identity, elegance, mystery, strength, sophistication, and an unapologetic presence.
Together, they became FLYBYNOIR.
What started as an idea beside a home flight simulator became a vision for something much larger: a brand for people who are going somewhere.
For the person crossing borders. Building a career. Starting the business. Entering unfamiliar rooms. Taking the risk. Reinventing themselves. Creating something where nothing existed before.
